AGDI PROJECT MANAGER

Glenn was appointed in September 1997 as the Project Manager for the Antarctic Geographic Data Integration project. He also holds the position of Executive Officer of the SCAR WG-GGI.

With the restructure of SCAR and the AGDI project being suspended for the time being Glenn is now the Chairman of the SCAR Geoscience Standing Scientific Group Action Group on Communication and Outreach.

Before this job Glenn held a number of positions within the National Mapping Division of Geoscience Australia, including Executive Officer to the Permanent Committee on GIS Infrastructure for Asia and the Pacific (PCGIAP) Working Group 2 which is examining similar data integration issues in the Asia-Pacific region.

Other jobs he's undertaken include:

• Research, development, marketing and promotion of both GEODATA digital data products (particularly the RASTER-250K and TOPO-2.5M products) and Geoscience Australia’s paper map products.
  
• Management of the distribution network for ACRES remotely sensed data and Geoscience Australia’s digital data. Also the provision of information on remotely sensed data to clients - both national and international.
  
• Independent validation and quality assurance testing of the TOPO-250K GEODATA product using ARC/INFO and AML's.
  
• Six month placements with the Western Australian Department of Land Administration (working on quality assurance systems within DOLA and the development of a spatial data model for GIS data) and Ministry for Planning (where he worked on the Perth Environmental Project - bringing together GIS data from different government departments for use by planners).
